Saint Thérèse of Lisieux was a French Catholic nun, mystic, and writer who lived in the 19 th century. Born in 1873, she entered the Carmelite convent at age 15 and took the name Sister Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face. She is known for her “Little Way” of spirituality, which emphasizes small acts of love and trust in God. Through her writings, particularly her spiritual autobiography “Story of a Soul”, Thérèse has inspired countless people worldwide with her message of simplicity, humility, and devotion to God, and was canonized as a saint in 1925 and declared a Doctor of the Church in 1997.
